GP - Practice Administrative Staff Collaborative

The Practice Administrative Staff Collaborative aims to develop the skills and role of practice administrative teams in GP practice settings. It is a ground-breaking programme aimed at improving the patient experience in primary care whilst supporting Health and Social Care Partnerships (HSCPs), GP clusters and multidisciplinary practice teams to work collectively to meet patient needs. The collaborative will run from February 2018 to March 2019.

Following a competitive recruitment process, we are pleased to confirm the four HSCPs joining us on this improvement journey are:

  • Argyll & Bute HSCP
  • Clackmannanshire and Stirling & Falkirk HSCPs (joint application)
  • East Lothian HSCP, and
  • South Lanarkshire & North Lanarkshire HSCPs (joint application).

Each HSCP will involve up to four GP clusters to take part in a range of quality improvement activities.

Throughout this collaborative, the Primary Care Portfolio Team will draw upon the vast expertise of the wider primary care workforce supporting GPs in Scotland.

A national learning session took place on Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 March 2018 for participating HSCPs and those who expressed an interest in the collaborative. To view photos from the Session, please click on the image below.

Resources from the session, including flash reports and presentations used on both days, are available to view in the sidebar, and further notifications for future events will be uploaded in due course. We encourage delegates to check this webpage regularly, and sign up to our LinkedIn networking page (see below), for updates.

A series of learning sessions and webinars at local and national level will also be scheduled throughout the year to support this network and to share learning across Scotland.
