Ethical Commissioning in Drugs and Alcohol (July 2024)

In December 2023, Healthcare Improvement Scotland commissioned research in relation to Ethical Commissioning. The research explored ethical commissioning through a range of case studies to build knowledge on the realities of delivering ethical commissioning approaches on the ground.

Embedding Lived Experience in the Commissioning and Contracting of Residential Rehabilitation Services in Scotland: HIS engagement analysis and findings (June 2023)

In collaboration with Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol and Drugs, Simon Community Scotland and the South Lanarkshire Beacons we worked to illustrate key insights into people’s experiences of accessing and trying to access residential rehabilitation. These findings, alongside feedback from family members and third sector organisations, have been produced to support Scotland Excel in their work to establish national contracting arrangements for alcohol and drug residential rehabilitation services in Scotland.
