Design Community of Practice updates
Aug 2024 event: We were joined by Tom Inns, Director of design & systems facilitation consultancy, Cofink Ltd. Tom delivered a thought-provoking presentation on design and systems thinking approaches, that help us visualise our health and care systems from above.
May 2024 event: We were joined by Rachel Dowle and Anna Henderson from the Office of the Chief Designer. They talked about building co-design maturity within Scottish Government and beyond, through the ‘Getting It Right for Everyone’ project.
February 2024 event: We were delighted to have the community come together in-person for the first time. We were joined by an impressive line up of speakers from healthcare and academia, including our first international speaker, who joined the event remotely.
November 2023 event: We were joined by Synnøve Frøiland, service designer at the Digital Office, who shared what she has learned from working towards implementing the Scottish Approach to Service Design (SAtSD) in local government.
August 2023 event: We were joined by John Mortimer, systems thinker and organisation designer, who talked about what was learned in designing a person-centred health service within the NHS.
May 2023 event: We were joined by Gillian Fyfe and Jeni Lennox from the TEC (Technology Enabled Care) Programme, who shared the online resource which has been developed for Designing Person-Centred Services in Housing, Social Care and Health.
February 2023 event: Our very own Elizabeth Brooks talked about service design for Mental Health and Substance Use services in Tayside. Elizabeth described how the team approached the discovery and develop phases of the project.
November 2022 event: During this event, we were joined by Dr Amal Al Sayegh, Consultant Psychiatrist at St. John's Hospital, Livingston who delivered a presentation asking: ‘In the midst of a staffing crisis, how can the NHS design better services?’
Her presentation explored how practitioners from healthcare backgrounds collaborated with practitioners from design backgrounds to deliver projects in Tayside.
