On Monday 26th of February the latest QI Masterclass for NHS Board members took place at Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh. Board members came together on the day from all over Scotland to discuss the theme of the event, ‘Ensuring high quality care’. Amongst those in attendance were 17 Chief Executives or Chairs and there was representation from 19 Scottish Health Boards.

The morning session was led by Ruth Glassborow (Director of Improvement Support and ihub), who delivered a presentation on the latest thinking on Quality Management Approaches. The discussion then moved on to sharing practice, where both NHS Highland and NHS Lothian took to the stage to discuss the work that is happening within their area. In the afternoon, Heather Shearer (Board and Partnerships QI Development Lead) led a discussion centered around safety methods where Board members discussed their knowledge and experience. Finally, the day came to a close when Board members sat in their own Boards to plan the actions they will take forward together.
