Core components of a learning system
There are four core components in the “Learning System Knot”. The knot highlights the interconnected and multi-directional flow of activities between the components.
As well as supporting infrastructure, a learning system has four core components. Each component comprises a series of activities, to support thinking in any context. The list is not prescriptive or exhaustive.
The knot emphasises that addressing components is neither linear nor circular. Activity will move between them as understanding builds and participants determine next steps.
Information generated in the "learning system knot" should inform decision-making. Effective sharing of information will lead to improved quality management.
For example:
- What insights have we gathered to support effective quality planning?
- What have we learned about effective approaches to co-design?
