Person centred care
Person centred systems and behaviours are embedded and support safety for everyone
- Why person centred care is important
Putting the person receiving care at the centre of decision-making creates a personalised, holistic approach to their care. Building a more personalised approach, in partnership with people through shared decision making, helps them feel listened to. Care experience is positively associated with clinical effectiveness and safety. It provides an opportunity for health and care staff to engage with people, their families and carers, in a new way.
