Effective communication can have a positive effect on staff by reducing the risk of potential harm arising from misunderstandings, and the use of standardised templates for communication has many benefits. Ensuring that staff are prepared and capable to communicate effectively in different situations can enhance teamwork. Teams are given opportunities to improve their awareness of safety concerns, and to share understanding of the focus and priorities for the day.
