SPSP Perinatal programme

Supporting improved outcomes for women, birthing people and babies in Scotland

The 2023 SPSP Perinatal Programme change packages for women, birthing people and babies were co-designed and co-produced with clinical and quality improvement experts from NHS boards. Two Expert Reference Groups (Maternity and Perinatal) were convened in March and June 2023, respectively, with representation from across NHS Scotland.

These change packages are a resource to support teams to improve the recognition, response and review of women, birthing people and babies. It brings together what is known about best practices and processes based on evidence from literature, research, and the experiences of others.
