Results handling
Ensuring test results are reliably ordered, received back in the practice and actions communicated effectively to patients are an essential component of safe care.
The Scottish Patient Safety Programme in Primary Care has developed a number of resources in this change package to reflect the evidence and to provide practices with tools. The measures and resources in this change package will provide insights into how safe and reliable their practice systems are for managing test results, as well as practical suggestions to support improvement.
What is a care bundle?
A care bundle is a structured way of improving processes of care to deliver enhanced patient safety and clinical outcomes. It’s a way of ensuring that patients receive all the evidence-based care to which they are entitled. In relation to results handling, this means ensuring that patients receive optimum care at every contact.
