Access QI: Supporting NHS Boards to use their quality improvement (QI) expertise to sustainably and affordably reduce waiting times

Introduction

Safely remobilising and delivering elective care services during COVID-19, requires teams to think differently about:  

  • how to use capacity differently to safely meet the needs of service users
  • how to ensure that staff are kept informed and supported, and
  • how to integrate technology and digital innovation safely and sustainably.

Services across Scotland, and the world, have been testing local innovations to meet the demands of COVID-19. Learning from these local innovations has been captured and shared through the Access Learning System. All of this learning has been translated into this change package, including a driver diagram which describes a high level theory of change.
