Tools and resources to sustainably improve access to general practice
The impact of COVID-19 has increased the urgency to improve access to primary care. The tools in this resource can be used by general practice teams to identify opportunities to improve access to care.
Data is key to understanding demand, capacity and activity to ensure patients can access the right care at the right time. General practice teams can use the range of data collection and interpret tools to better understand how they are using their existing capacity to meet demand and identify opportunities for improvement.
This resource contains simple and easy to use data collection tools and learning summaries developed in collaboration with general practice teams from NHS Ayrshire and Arran, NHS Shetland and NHS Tayside.
The tools shared will provide a starting point for practices who are looking to collect and analyse data to better understand access.
