This event is led by our partners at NHS Education Scotland and will also be delivered in partnership with Shared Care Scotland. We will consider how we can better support carers and those they care for to achieve meaningful breaks that reflect their needs, outcomes and preferences.
We will look at the current ‘journey’ taken by carers to access breaks to see if this can be improved. We will also consider our role in helping to empower carers to articulate what matters to them and be more confident about exploring alternative, creative ways of meeting their break outcomes.
With a new legal ‘right to a break’ on the horizon, there has perhaps never been a more important time to ensure we have the best support in place to help carers access the breaks that work best for them, and the people they care for.
