Pre-school immunisations at home for shielded families | from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde

Vaccinations against preventable diseases for children under the age of five are still routinely delivered across the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde area. The team runs 39 clinics per week and has taken some proactive steps to encourage attendance during COVID-19.

For example, every parent/carer is phoned the day before an appointment to encourage attendance but also to address any concerns they may have about COVID-19.

In addition, all shielded families are offered a bespoke, patient-centred service of a home visit instead.

According to the team who emailed this story to the ihub:

"The data speaks for itself and we are now seeing a good attendance at clinics. I feel the staff have gone the extra mile and I am very proud of all of them."
