Matching hearts to help grieving families | from South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust

The grief of the surviving family members unable to be with loved ones at the end can be immeasurable. To help ease the pain, an Emergency Department Nurse from South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust worked with a local business to develop a heart-shaped memory token.

A matching pair of hearts is created, one is placed with the deceased and the other is given or sent to the patient’s next of kin. This is already providing comfort to the families who are grieving the loss of a loved one.
