The New Models for Learning Disability Day Support Collaborative Team are pleased to share with stakeholders a summary of our recent National Connections Session.

The National Connections Sessions provide a platform for organisations, services and alternative models of support to:

  • showcase the opportunities they offer, and
  • support the spread of similar activity.

In the February 2023 session we heard from:

  • Uppertunity, a social enterprise in Dundee working with people aged 16+ experiencing learning disabilities, autism and mental health barriers to service and life opportunities, and
  • The Scottish Social Services Council, who explored workforce development in the context of staff recruitment, development and retention.

The New Models for Learning Disability Day Support Collaborative national team also provided an overview of the National Connections Sessions platform for engagement.
