Virtual seaside coach journey provides a trip down memory lane – and hopes for the future | from Beechwood Care Home, Wishaw

Residents at a Wishaw care home are enjoying virtual days out during lockdown.

Beechwood Care Home organised a virtual coach trip to Largs for eight residents, recreating the holiday feeling by arranging chairs to form a bus and even making headrest mats for each seat. Residents joined in by donning sunglasses and hats.

Staff and residents reminisced about previous trips, talking about trips to Nardini's for ice cream, the Millport ferry and seafront amusements. To help recreate the atmosphere, ice cream was served as part of the 'trip'.

Following the success of the 'day out', more trips are now being planned for the future.
