Increasing access to CAMHS and PT workstream

Aim: The aim of this workstream is to improve access to CAMHS and PT services in Scotland to deliver better experiences for people who require this support. The work will support services to achieve the target of 90% of people requiring CAMHS and PT services receiving treatment within 18 weeks of referral to the service.

Objectives:

  • Teams understand issues and opportunities in existing pathways and processes.
  • Teams understand the experience of colleagues and people who use the service and have used this to identify improvements.
  • Teams develop QI capacity and capability to achieve measurable, sustained improvement.
  • Teams share knowledge and learning and embed new approaches into daily practice.

Neurodevelopmental Pathways workstream

Aim: The aim of this workstream is to develop an effective neurodevelopmental pathway for children awaiting neurodevelopmental assessment.

As a result of the scoping work, we have developed one long term aim and one short term aim for the collaborative:

Long term aim: 95% of children and young people presenting to CAMHS across Scotland with a neurodevelopmental condition will be assessed and diagnosed within 18 weeks of referral by June 2019.

Short term aim: 50% of children and young people presenting to CAMHS across Scotland with a neurodevelopmental condition will be assessed and diagnosed within 18 weeks of referral by December 2018.

Objectives:

  • Teams understand the experience of colleagues and people who use the service and have used this to identify improvements.
  • Teams identify how they can create efficient and effective neurodevelopmental assessment services for children, their families and carers.
  • Teams develop QI capacity and capability to achieve measurable, sustained improvement.
  • Teams share knowledge and learning, and embed new approaches into daily practice.
